Track Listing
-
Pack Our Bags
"Pack Our Bags" is a fun song for those unseasonably warm spring days in Alberta when the snow is freshly melted, the sun is warming your favourite patio, and you just can't imagine having to waste a beautiful day going to work. -
Highway to Hell
AC/DC is one of Jason's all-time favourite bands and a big influence on his songwriting and musical taste. Jason has been playing his own unique version of "Highway to Hell" for many years, and this recording with a full band brings out the energetic sing-along quality of Jason's take on this rock and roll classic.
Music and lyrics: Angus Young, Malcolm Young, and Bon Scott -
Danielle
Inspired by a trip that Jason took to San Francisco many years ago, "Danielle" is a song about temptation and the conflict that can sometimes arise between doing what feels good vs doing the right thing. -
Fishin' In the Dark
"Fishin' In the Dark" is a full-on country classic and Jason has always had a soft spot for this one, after many years of country music listening influences from his mother.
Music and lyrics: Wendy Waldman and Jim Photoglo -
What Wouldn't I Do
Long term relationships aren't all sunsets and roses, and "What Wouldn't I Do" explores all the little sacrifices and big pieces of hard work that it takes to keep love going strong. -
Just a Day Job
Some people get to spend all day at work doing what they love, but for lots of people their real passions are found in other pursuits like family, arts, and hobbies. Jason falls into the latter category, and "Just a Day Job" is a full on confessional. -
Lovin' Too Late
"Lovin' Too Late" is a tongue in cheek look at a hopelessly non-committal lifestyle. No autobiography here, just a bit of fun! -
Won't Stop Now
"Won't Stop Now" is a self-motivational speech that Jason gave himself after looking at just how messed up the world has become in the past 10 years of politics, social media, and regressive cultural trends. -
Feelin' Alright
Joe Cocker's definitive version of "Feelin' Alright" has always been a favourite of Jason's, thanks to his father's musical influences. This version adds a folk-rock spin to this classic tune.
Music and lyrics: Dave Mason -
Leaving On a Jet Plane
"Leaving On a Jet Plane" is one of the ultimate singalong songs, and Jason and Pip get the crowd going on this one. A great way to end a show!
Music and lyrics: John Denver
