About the song
Calgary artists Jason Andrew Griffith and Melyssa Lee released their evocative new folk-roots collaboration "Stay Another Day," on October 24th 2025.
Produced and co-written by producer/musician Paul Zacharias, the song is rooted in the traditions of classic Americana and Canadian folk. "Stay Another Day" delivers soothing melodies, rhythmic movement, and lush harmonies to draw you in. At its heart, the song tells a warm, unfolding story — a reflection on changing seasons, the draw of wanderlust, and the beauty of love that endures. Fans of Americana duets like Ocie Elliott, Civil Wars, and Calgary's Scarlett Butler will enjoy this timeless classic release.
“Stay Another Day” is available on all major streaming platforms. Jason and Melyssa are excited to announce a single release event at Cornerstone Music Café on November 15th 2025.
About the artists
Alberta-based artist Jason Andrew Griffith has been hard at work in the Calgary music scene for the past few years, writing and performing a unique style of prairie-grown Americana music that evokes the likes of Tom Petty, Ryan Adams, and Corb Lund; while releasing multiple singles, an EP, and a recent live album.
He is joined on this special single by YYC-based singer-songwriter Melyssa Lee; who brings musical memoirs into song by sharing lessons learned from life. Melyssa brings a mix of folk-roots styled, Lilith-inspired emotive songs and most recently has also started another project of electronic folk roots, traditional and modern instruments blended into orchestral sounds.
Lyrics
Blowing in like autumn wind
Another town, another sin
Here and gone, that's who I am
Running from a troubled past
Chasing thrills that never last
The open road is all I know
When my feet sink in the ground, it's time to go
Meeting you just by chance
You were laughing at my dancing
On the floor of the hotel bar
We kept laughing through the night
Stayed up till the morning light came through the window
Of the all night diner
I'm on the run
I got nothing to lose
I'm on the run
I keep it light, I keep it moving
But I must admit I'd like to hear you say
Please darling stay
Stay another day
Another day, or three at most
After that I'll be a ghost
Here and gone, that's who I am
But dust keeps gathering on my boots
All these moments here with you
Keep raining on down
Like seeds to fertile ground
Sprouting all around, it's true
I'm on the run
I got nothing to lose
I'm on the run
I keep it light, I keep it moving
But I must admit I want to hear you say
Please darling stay
Stay another day
Now I'm standing at the door
What am I searching for
Here and gone, and on
It's getting late
I'm on the run
But I got something to lose
Out on the run
But how long can I keep moving
I've been working on the words I want to say
Please darling stay
Stay another day
Please darling stay
Stay another day
Please darling stay
Stay another day
